Cignal Digital TV is a number one satellite television
service provider in the Philippines. This is known as a subscription-based DTH
(Direct-to-Home) satellite dish. Cignal is the product of MediaScape but originally
owned by the MediaQuest Holdings Inc. which is under the PLDT Beneficial Trust
Fund.
In order to obtain Cignal broadcast, subscribers must acquire
subscription from the satellite dish antenna, remote control, and from the
Integrated Receiver-Decoder. This subscription can be also achieved through
prepaid electronic loading system. This means that subscribers can have their
subscriptions through prepaid loading platform of Smart Communication, Inc.
Cignal uses VideoGuard encryption system to secure its content from any signal
piracy. MediaScape is also using NSS-11 satellite of SES to bestow optimal
coverage straight to the target markets.
As the technology innovates, Cignal became the most in
demand TV satellite in the Philippines. The level of services can accommodate
both standard and high definition TV broadcast.
